Day 335

Day 335 of  The Red Shoe Project just happens to be the day after Thanksgiving -- that's the day that I always set up my Christmas tree and decorate for the holidays.  I popped on my Ruby Reds and set out to do just that.

Seven years ago, I decided to invest in a rather large artificial Christmas tree.  What was unique about this tree was that it had the twinkle lights permanently attached to it.  Who doesn't love twinkle lights?  They make the atmosphere so magical, don't you think?

Decades ago, when I was a little girl,  I remember my father unwinding all the Christmas lights and checking each and every one to make sure it worked.  If one of the lights didn't work, then the whole strand of lights didn't work. It was a tedious process to find out which light didn't work so that you could replace it.

For the past several years, I have noticed more and more of the twinkle lights on my big Christmas tree, no longer functioning.  I took care of that each year by adding my own twinkle lights in the spots where the lights didn't work.  That seemed fine until this year.  When I plugged the tree in -- of the hundreds of lights,  only 5 or 6 lit up.

Oh no!!!  Another menial task.  It took me two whole days to get all the dead Christmas tree lights off the tree.  Two whole days!  What is it with me and menial tasks these days?  That's okay though, because the Lord was with me.  We had quite the chat today about my future.  He told me some interesting things I can look forward to.  It was the strangest thing.  It was as if I had a friend over the house helping me.  Fellowship with Him is getting sweeter and sweeter.

There's an old chorus that goes like this...

"I keep falling in love with Him, over and over and,  over and over again.
I keep falling in love with Him, over and over and,  over and over again.
It gets sweeter and sweeter as the days go by.  Oh what a love between my Lord and I.
I keep falling in love with Him, over and over and,  over and over again!"

One of my goals in The Red Shoe Project  has been to build an intimate and comfortable relationship with the Lord that's real.  A relationship that mirrors a relationship I would have with another person.  One that's not always on my knees.  One in which I can speak openly and freely as opposed to one in which I speak in King James English.  LOL.   I want to say "normal" -- but I'm not sure that most people would consider all this as "normal,"  if you know what I mean!

Seriously...  I just want a relationship with God that's  24/7 -- on my part,  not just on His!  Today I saw the beginning of that.  As I was taking the lights off the tree, the Lord was talking to me about life as if He were a person standing right there next to me, helping me.  I love that!  To think that all that came about while doing a menial task!  LOL.

God works in mysterious ways,
His wonders to perform!

Day 334

Today is Day 334 of The Red Shoe Project.   An amazing thing happened early this morning while still in bed.  God commissioned me.  That's right.  He called me to a special assignment.  There was no hoopla -- No angels singing -- Hey... my RED shoes weren't even on my feet yet!

Would you do this for me?
He asked.

After much consideration and discussion,
I responded back...

Yes Lord!  I will gladly do that for You!

Not long ago, I was watching a YouTube download in which a minister was talking about The Call of God.

He spoke of "God's Call"  as a
Divine Offer of Partnership
with The Holy Spirit.

You can say "YES" or you can say "NO" --  It's entirely up to you!  The great Kathryn Kuhlman was commissioned by God for a very specific ministry of healing.  It's documented that she believed she was not God's first choice, but His fourth.  She understood that three men were asked prior to her, but  not one of them was willing to pay the price for that powerful anointing.

Looking back over my thirty years as a Christian, there have been several powerful times in which God has commissioned me for a task.  I still remember each and every one of them.  The day He called me to preach, I was in the shower, of all places, when He spoke Isaiah 61:1-3 directly to my heart.  It broke me right then and there.

This morning was very different though.  It was all a bit serious, almost like a business meeting.  We talked at great length and He offered up specific details.  He wanted to make sure I understood how special this task was to Him.  I was glad He took the time to talk with me about it.

I said "YES" and He said,
"That settles it then.  Now you know.
You don't have to keep asking.
The decision has been made."

Someday, I will write about this special commissioning.  I will remind my readers that on...

Thanksgiving Day 2013.
 I said, "YES"  to God.

How profound this morning meeting in my prayer closet has been.  It seems odd that I am off now to celebrate the holiday with family and friends as if nothing out of the ordinary has happened today. But something has happened!  My heart is now fixed on a specific course of action.  It may not seem huge to those watching.  Most will not even take notice.   But it's astronomical to me.  So be it!

Day 333

Today is Day 333 of  The Red Shoe Project.  It's also the day before Thanksgiving.  I didn't have to look far, in my RED shoes, to see God at work, up close and personal.  I witnessed His loving-kindness flow through my youngest daughter, Grace, the entire day!

Just before noon, we hit the road to visit my Mom.  Grace couldn't wait to spend the day with her beloved grandmother.  Upon arrival, she was quick to throw her arms around her neck and kiss her cheek.  She complimented her over and over again.

All afternoon she focussed her attention on "Granny."  It was obvious that there was no place else she'd rather be.  She listened intently to all her stories.  She engaged in delightful conversation and laughter.  She even lent a helping hand whenever possible.  Before we left, she made sure to take pictures of us all together.  Then before we were even home, the pictures were on Instagram for all her friends to see!   That's how it's done!

What more could I ask for?
I got to see the Love of God, in action,
right in front of my face!

Long story, short -- my Mom had a heavenly day!  She loved every moment of it and so did I.

Day 332

Today was Day 332 of  The Red Shoe Project.  I woke up bright and early, nearly bubbling over with joy!
Come on!  Get up!  Get up!
I shouted to the Lord.
Today's gonna be a great day!

Without hesitation, I sat up smiling and threw my legs over the side of the bed.  "Today's the day!"  I proclaimed.  "Today I'm getting my hair done!" With great excitement, I bowed my head, told the Lord I loved Him, and gave Him my day.  Then it dawned on me.  "How carnal is that?"  Yesterday, the Holy Spirit woke me up all excited about feeding the hungry and today, I woke Him up all excited about getting my hair colored and cut.  Tears ran down my cheeks as I realized the difference between His aspirations and mine.

"Oh... Forgive me Lord!"

There was no harsh rebuke, no condemnation, no disappointment.  Actually... the Lord was glad for me.  He saw how happy I was and couldn't wait to spend the day with me.  Truly it was a day of great fellowship and partnership with one another.  I popped on my sparkly RED shoes and out the door we headed to The Bonfire!

Today was my last day teaching on Spiritual Gifts.   I talked about the importance of  understanding how the Holy Spirit moves and the ability to flow with Him.  There was one segment in particular in which I felt the Holy Spirit's partnership and anointing.  It was a comparison between Stepping out in the Flesh vs. Stepping out in the Spirit and the courage to "take the risk."

Grieving the Spirit is not to be taken lightly.  Deliver an emotional performance in the natural with all the bells and whistles... you'll know it and so will everyone else.  It will be empty, unfulfilling and un-anointed.  You'll never want to do that again.

So why then should someone even step out?  Why chance it?  Because one day it will happen.  You'll be compelled in your spirit to tell a stranger God loves them.  Or you'll find it necessary to give forth a prophetic utterance publicly.  Maybe you will sense the urgency to lay hands on someone and pray for their healing.

You'll just do it!  The Holy Spirit
will move on you so quickly,
you'll find it happening before you
even have time to think about it.

Next thing you know, someone is praying and accepting Christ into their heart.  People are weeping, falling to their knees and crying out to God.  The person who was sick or broken proclaims, "I'm healed!  I'm healed!"

Being used by the Holy Spirit to accomplish some divine deed -- there's nothing better than that!   It's called Divine Partnership  and once you experience it, you'll want to be used again and again and again.  When it's God...  you'll take the risk.  You'll have to!  You wont be able to say no!  You won't want to say no!

Following the study, my ministry partner, Tammy, and I had the opportunity to minister to a woman in great need of healing.  The Holy Spirit was right there with us -- giving us the right words to say, providing the love, mercy, grace and power necessary for the task at hand.  Glory to God!  I love working with Tammy and so does the Holy Spirit.

Next I was off to the salon.  While there, I had the opportunity, once again, to partner with the Holy Spirit to give spiritual encouragement and guidance to one friend and to pray down strongholds with another!   I told you the Holy Spirit and I had a blessed time today!

Recent financial constraints may have delayed my preferred method for beautification -- true, but God has been busy doing some very important things in my life that, for the time being, have taken precedence over my not so important rituals and routines.  It won't be that way forever, but it's  that way for now.
I don't understand it all and therefore I can't accurately explain it to you,  but I do know this:

I am experiencing a new level of
fellowship with the Holy Spirit
that fulfills the desire of my heart
like nothing else does.

It's uncanny,  but I'm entering the prayer closet this evening thanking God for doing all that was necessary to get me here -- even when I didn't like it!  Only God can do that!

Taking off my RED shoes
as I step on Holy ground.
