Day 218

It's Day 218 of  The Red Shoe Project.  I'm wearing my Ruby Reds and asking all of you to take a moment and agree with me in prayer for Charlie.  Charlie turns 18 any day now.  With that, he can walk out of rehab and go back to his old life.  That's what he's been saying he's going to do, BUT...

I'm believing God for a Miracle!

Would you intercede today, on Charlie's behalf, that God would somehow change Charlie's heart?  It will just take a moment of your time.  Just whisper these words...

"God...
* Your will be done in Charlie's life!
  * Please make yourself known to him.
 * Deliver him from drug addiction.
* Save his soul!   Amen."

Thank you, dear friends for your prayers.

Sometimes God just puts a particular person on my heart to intercede for.  It's as if I've been assigned to that person by God, Himself and it's my job is to continually lift him/her up in prayer to God.  I could forget to pray for this one or that one... but not for the one that's been assigned to me.  Sure... I  have loved ones that I should pray for, and hopefully I do just that...  but this is different.  When God assigns someone directly to me... and it may be someone I don't even really know, (like Charlie),  I am compelled to pray for him.  The Spirit will drive me to that place of prayer if need be.  It's just one of those "God-things!'   Sometimes it's a one-time event.  Sometimes it's for a season.  And in some cases, I suppose it could be for ever.

 Intercede  means to intervene on behalf of another.
 to negotiate,  plead for,  and petition.

Did you know that The Holy Spirit intercedes for you?

"In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness.
We do not know what we ought to pray for but the Spirit
himself intercedes  for us through wordless groans. "
Romans 8:26

An Advocate  is someone that pleads the cause of another,
who represents another, and acts in his name;
who uses his influence in behalf of another by his request.

Did you know that Jesus is your Advocate?

"...But if anybody does sin, we have an advocate with the Father --
Jesus Christ, the Righteous One."
1 John 2:1

Praying for someone is a BIG DEAL.  When you do that, you move from
the natural... doing what you can do in a particular situation, to
the super-natural... inviting God into the situation. With God, anything becomes possible.

When you come into agreement with others in prayer, now you've brought things to even another level.  Instead of one person interceding on behalf for a person or situation, several voices are calling out to God in unity.  Man... that's like turning on the loud speaker with God... don't you think?

I know God loves it when we pray...
by ourselves,  for others,  and with others.

I'm kicking off my RED shoes,
and getting on my knees today for Charlie!
Thank you for joining with me.
