Day 16

Day 16 of  The Red Shoe Project found me curled up reading more of my new book, Welcome Holy Spirit. The author states,

"After I came to know the Holy Spirit,
I found Him...
reliable,
consistent,
and very loving.
He never changes.
He never lets you down,
and is always understanding
and so patient."

                                     -Benny Hinn

He also says,

"God's Spirit is so gentle and loving that He has been likened to a dove".

"Gentle" means...
soft,  mild,  pleasant,  calm,  kind,  tender,  quiet,
soothing,  mellow,  restful,  peaceful

Note:   The Opposite of gentle is...
hard,  turbulent,  crude,  stormy,  rude,  harsh,  discomforting,  tough,  trying

My daughter shared something with me recently that I've been pondering over and over in my mind.  She confessed that while talking to the Lord, she realized that the Holy Spirit is so gentle.  (There's that word again). She became aware of the fact that SHE is the one that's HARSH and ROUGH on herself, whereas The Holy Spirit is always so loving and patient.  SHE is the one that tends to heap up all sorts of rules and regulations on herself, not God.  The Holy Spirit told her, "Just Live Your Life".

On numerous occasions over the years the Holy Spirit has said that same thing to me...

"Just Live Your Life, and I'll work through you!"

I want to remember that!  I know we can be very regimented and tough on ourselves as Christians... setting up all sorts of to-do and not to-do lists, trying to be what we think is the "perfect" Christian.  Our intention may be well and good... but that's not God's Way!   ... that's our way.

Galatians 5:22 tells us that one of the Fruits of the Spirit is Gentleness.

My hope and prayer is...

As these RED SHOES bring me into God's Presence everyday...
may the Gentleness of God work it's way
into the field of my heart, and grow in abundance.

How beautiful to be adorned with gentleness!

Have an awesome day, my friends!
